Wanted: KS2 students to help Seth fix his library.
Here’s the situation: Seth accidentally dropped all the genres in the library — and now stories are in total disarray.
Ghosts are floating through comedy. Detective stories have forgotten how to build suspense. And fantasy tales are mostly just about sandwiches. The books are confused. The librarians are distraught. Seth needs help.
That’s where your child comes in.
In this ten-week adventure, your child will become a Genre Explorer — tasked with travelling through eight major story genres to restore order to the Library. Guided by Seth’s supportive and — at times — absurd messages, they’ll create original characters, write weekly creative pieces, and unlock stamps that piece the library back together.
Along the way, they’ll practise key storytelling skills — from building suspense to writing believable dialogue — all rooted in the KS2 English curriculum. Their final mission is to write a story of their own that blends everything they’ve learned into one brilliant tale.
Genre Explorers is more than a writing course — it’s an immersive, character-led journey through storytelling itself. It builds confidence and helps children discover how (and why) different stories work. AND it helps Seth…

A character that didn’t exist before, but now does, because they imagined them. Once they’ve conceptualised and developed a brand new character, a belief starts to emerge: ‘I can do anything.’

Frequently Asked Questions
Of course they can! While Write and Imagine with Seth is designed with 7–11 year olds in mind, older children are more than welcome to join in — especially if they enjoy imaginative storytelling, creative prompts, and character-led activities. The age range is a guideline based on typical school years, but lots of 12 and 13-year-olds still find these courses fun and engaging. If it sounds like something your child would enjoy, they’re the right age for it!
Yes! These courses are designed to feel fun and low-pressure. Seth’s friendly, character-led guidance helps take the fear out of writing and encourages children to experiment, explore, and enjoy the process — not worry about getting everything "right."
Each course includes a themed creative writing adventure with story-based prompts, character-building tasks, and playful writing challenges. Depending on the course, there may be videos, audio clips, or illustrated worksheets to support different learning styles.
You can choose between a printable pack and an interactive online version. Both contain the same creative content — it’s just a matter of what works best for your child. The interactive version includes built-in guidance and places to upload work for feedback.
Yes! If you choose the interactive version, personalised weekly feedback from Seth is included. If you go for the downloadable pack, you can add feedback for a small extra fee. All feedback is written with help from Christina, a children’s author and creative writing expert with a PhD — and it’s always warm, constructive, and full of encouragement (no red pens here!).
Each course is flexible, but most children spend around 45–60 minutes per week on the activities. Some like to spread the tasks out across a few days, while others dive in all at once. It’s entirely up to you.
Just a pen, some paper, and an imagination! If you're using the printable version, you'll also need access to a printer — or you can type answers using an online tool. For the interactive version, your child can upload handwritten work or type directly into documents using tools like Google Docs or Word.
Not at all. These courses are designed to feel like a storytelling adventure, not homework. Seth isn’t a teacher — he’s an earnest, biscuit-obsessed aeruss who just loves helping children tell their stories. There are no grades, no corrections — just creative freedom and lots of encouragement.
Just choose a course from the list above, click “Purchase Now,” and follow the simple checkout instructions. Once you’ve completed your purchase, we’ll be in touch within 24 hours with either your login details (for the interactive version) or your downloadable course pack.
