Creative Writing Tutoring and Mentoring
If you would like support with your writing, our tutoring and mentoring service could help. Through one-to-one sessions, Christina can help with whatever you’re working on, be it a short story, novel, university assignment, or something else entirely.
Dr Christina Clover is a published author, and experienced (DBS-checked) tutor and mentor. She offers guidance, constructive feedback, and a collaborative approach to help you develop your writing skills.
Tutoring, Mentoring, or Both?
What’s the difference?
- Creative Writing Tutoring focuses on practical, skill-based support. Sessions help you improve specific aspects of your writing, like plot, character development, structure, or storytelling techniques. You’ll work on exercises, receive live feedback, and build skills you can use independently.
- Creative Writing Mentoring is a collaborative partnership aimed at supporting a specific project or body of work. Christina will guide you through drafting and revising your writing, offering professional feedback and suggestions along the way.
Many learners benefit from a combination of both — tutoring to develop skills and mentoring to apply them to a real project. We recommend booking a free consultation to discuss your goals and decide which approach, or combination, is best for you.
How It Works
- Free Consultation: A Zoom meeting to discuss your project, writing goals, and preferred approach.
- Tailored Sessions: One-to-one support via Zoom, personalised to your schedule.
- Feedback & Guidance: Written feedback, suggested edits, live teaching, and creative exercises depending on whether you choose mentoring, tutoring, or a combination. Between sessions, you can submit up to 1,000 words (as standard) of your writing each time, and Christina will provide detailed feedback before your next session.

Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely! Many writers come to mentoring unsure where to begin. During your free consultation with Christina, just let her know your situation and the assignment details. Together, you’ll create a tailored plan based on your deadline and goals, including how many sessions you’ll need to get the work done confidently and on time. Christina will guide you step-by-step, from brainstorming to final edits.
That’s absolutely fine — we understand that calls aren’t for everyone. If you’d prefer written feedback only with no sessions, you might want to explore our Writing Review service (LINK). Or just send us an email and we’ll help you figure out the best option.
Christina is kind and easy to talk to — and she definitely doesn’t bite. (Even if she did, it would be quite a challenge through the screen.) That said, we completely respect that calls aren’t always comfortable or accessible, and we’re happy to adapt. Let us know what works for you, and we’ll make it happen.
It is a big commitment — both in time and money — and we totally get that. No one’s under pressure to go for it straight away. In fact, most people who choose the 25-session package have already seen great results from a smaller plan and are ready to dive into a larger or long-term project.
There are a few reasons people choose it:
- They want a regular weekly routine — something creative to look forward to, and to keep them accountable.
- They’ve been inspired by their progress and are ready to take on something bigger, like a novel or story collection.
- They need structure and deadlines — this package gives them a reason to show up, write regularly, and actually finish the thing they’ve been dreaming about.
We know it’s a chunk of money. But it’s not just a commitment from you — it’s a commitment from us too. And if you decide to take that step, we’ll be right there with you, cheering you on and helping you make it happen.
