The Great Story Hunt

Join Cassie the fox and her friends on a journey through magical gardens and forests, solving mysteries and helping characters in unexpected situations. In this story-slash-writing course, what happens next in the narrative depends on your child’s writing. They will see straight away that their words shape the story. The Great Story Hunt is empowering and fun, and it’s exactly the kind of experience that makes children excited to write.

This course is pitched for younger learners or anyone still getting familiar with spelling, punctuation, and sentence-building. There’s space for them to experiment, to try things, to see that mistakes aren’t scary — they’re part of the story. Children can imagine themselves in other characters’ shoes, helping them think about how someone else might feel.

In this course, learners will:

• Help Seth deliver a missing letter by writing clear sentences with capital letters and full stops.
• Help Dotty the punctuation pixie and restore missing punctuation marks.
• Console Phillip the squirrel by writing questions, exclamations, and dialogue using question marks, exclamation marks, and, if they’re feeling wild, quotation marks.
• Explore Cassie’s magical garden by writing compound sentences with joining words like and, but, because.
• Go on a nature walk with Cassie to practise using adjectives for more descriptive storytelling.
• Create illustrated scenes that combine drawing, imaginative language, and narrative structure.

The Great Story Hunt is about having a proper adventure with writing. Each week feels fresh and magical, giving children confidence and instilling creativity, and hopefully (well, definitely) a real sense of achievement.
