Seth accidentally dropped all the genres in the library, and now stories are in total disarray. Ghosts are floating through comedy, and detective stories have forgotten how to build suspense. The books are confused. The librarians are distraught. Seth needs help.
That’s where your child comes in.
Over ten weeks, your child will become a Genre Explorer, travelling through eight major story genres and helping Seth restore order. They’ll create two original characters, including a sidekick, and follow them through each genre, learning how stories grow and change. Each week brings new, wildly different adventures, from spooky tales to magical realism, sci-fi, comedy, and real-life scenarios. Along the way, they’ll develop essential writing skills, all while collecting stamps and having a brilliant time.
In Genre Explorers, your child will:
Explore eight popular genres — Adventure, Spooky, Sci-Fi/Future Fiction, Comedy, Fantasy, Magical Realism, Detective/Mystery, and Real Life.
Create two original characters and develop them through voice, dialogue, and description.
Practise essential writing skills, including tone, suspense, atmosphere, structure, and reflection.
Unlock new writing challenges each week and collect genre stamps to rebuild the Azoria Story Library.
Complete a final project and earn a certificate to celebrate their writing journey.
By the end of the course, students will have a folder full of creative writing spanning multiple genres – a perfect way to build confidence and hone their literacy skills.
Like all our courses, Genre Explorers is available in two formats: Order it as a set of physical workbooks, delivered to your door, or explore it through our interactive online portal. Choose whichever feels right for your family.
Give your child the confidence and tools to become a stronger writer, and have a brilliant time doing it.
