Get your child excited about reading and writing!
What if a single, ordinary button could change everything?
It all began with a single, distinctive button. It tumbled into Seth’s claws and unlocked… well, we’re not entirely sure WHAT it unlocked… which is part of the problem. Seth needs help.
Join Seth as he explores the ordinary objects hiding extraordinary tales. It’s surprising how much of an adventure a button can create.
Across two weeks, children will learn how to see the world differently by exploring objects, places, and people with all their senses — including Seth’s favourite “sixth sense”: intuition. Seth’s enthusiasm for buttons paves the way for learners to be part of a magical, mutually-supportive friendship, using their imagination and writing skills to explore (and create) new concepts. And buttons.
On this course, your child will:
Use the senses as an aid to descriptive writing
Build vocabulary and trust in their imagination by turning small objects into story ideas
Practise writing in different forms: letters, descriptions, and short stories
Strengthen paragraphing and story structure
Through Seth’s welcoming voice and love of buttons, children discover how even the tiniest object can snowball into a story about — quite literally — anything. By the end of the course, they will have written their own original narrative, entirely based on their idea or plan.
The Button That Started it All is available as a set of physical workbooks, delivered to your door.
We also offer this course in a downloadable PDF format. Please see the download product page for more details.
